Bella's is owned and operated by Lauren Cortesi, whose dessert creations have received local and national acclaim.
Lauren started Bella's in 2002, growing the business by word of mouth. After the launch of
Bella's website in 2005, Bella's has grown nationally, with orders
coming in from across the U.S.
Lauren's entrance into the culinary arts world began in the early 1990's where she
prepared desserts at an oceanside restaurant in Oregon. Shortly
thereafter, Lauren moved to Seattle where she learned the basics of pastry
arts at the only 4 star restaurant in the area. Over the
years, Lauren received special instruction at Le Cordon Bleu Paris, and also from world renowned cake designer Colette Peters as well as the sugar paste flower expert Kim Morrison and sugar artist Lori Ann Blethen of Wildflowers.
Bella's offers cutting edge desserts using everything from fondant, gumpaste and chocolate work in her creations. Lauren has brought edible art to the area, and has committed to learning the latest trends to keep up with ever changing demand. Lauren has also generously donated cakes to such charities as Relay For Life, CancerCare Cupcakes for a Cause, as well as local and private school events.
Bella's is by appointment only, and is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.
